Engaging, committed & qualified

Our leaders are committed to being fully present on camp, creating the ideal atmosphere for campers to explore their beliefs and ask questions about life and faith. Being Christian role models for the next generation is recognised by all our team as one of the most important things they do on camp.

Trained in Christian ministry, our leaders are equipped to answer the hard questions while being sensitive and understanding of the different circumstances and varied backgrounds of campers. Through Christian discovery sessions and small discussion groups, campers experience a safe and inviting environment to consider God and Christianity for themselves.

The leaders were brilliant! They went above and beyond and were incredibly committed and engaged with the boys. Very good communication, friendly and approachable.”
— Teacher at Shore School

Not just great people, our leaders complete many hours of training in Outdoor Education, First Aid and Bronze Medallion, ensuring that they are well trained and fully qualified for their work on camps.

Our staff are trained internally through the Summit Program, a 2-year traineeship combining practical experience on camp and obtaining formal qualifications. On completing the Summit Program, graduates have achieved;

  • Nationally recognised Certificate II and III Outdoor Recreation

  • Senior First Aid & CPR

  • Bronze Medallion

  • Certificate IV in Christian Ministry and Theology

Our team

It takes a great team to create, organise and deliver memorable school camps. At CRU, we work with amazing people who are committed to making every camp experience the best it can possibly be for students, teachers, administrators and parents. Some work behind the scenes and others lead on camps, but no matter what role they play, all of our team members find real purpose in their work.

Camp Leaders

As the face of CRU, our friendly outdoor educators and leaders love meeting people and seeing them discover and achieve new things each day on camp. A perfect day involves spending time outdoors enjoying creation, watching campers take on new challenges (and succeeding!) and sharing about their love for Jesus.

Program Coordinators

Zane, Kane, Nikki and Josie make up our programming team and are focused on every aspect of the camp program, including the venue, activities, dietary information and permission forms. To effectively design school camps with purpose, every detail is planned, and every activity is intentionally chosen to create camp programs that are engaging, fun and memorable.
